The name “Down Neck” should be no mystery to you by now. With years of experience in the industry, Down Neck is quickly becoming one of the most famous glass blowers in the country, and his signature style is becoming iconic amongst enthusiasts. His newest creation, “Bo$$er Saucer,” is a perfect example of his unique and original stylings.
The piece is a colorful bubbler, standing approximately twenty-three inches tall. A clear base leads into a worked gradient stand. Follow the stand up, to find one of Down Neck’s famous alien-esque creatures. Completely blown by hand, the alien’s body is a crisp white with his larger, right arm functioning as the bubbler’s mouthpiece. Of course, no alien is complete without an eye and leg, or two. Finally, a custom slide, mounted atop the piece, completes the bubbler. Matching the alien’s body, the bowl is white, with red beading lining its side, and a worked flame handle.
As its name implies, the piece is reminiscent of an alien saucer. With its solid flaming stand, “Bo$$er Saucer” is ready to lift off, and blast you out of Earth’s atmosphere.
