Appropriately named, this beautiful water pipe by MOmo Glass has the size, strength, and percolation to get the job done, every single damn day. From the 14mm female joint, the fixed downstem follows the trend of the rest of the piece – monstrous. The engineering on the perc in this particular piece is unbelievable; looking at the size of the tube and downstem, you wouldn’t think it would pull so effortlessly. With unbelievably smooth airflow, the Daily Driver delivers an explosive stack of percolation that you just won’t get tired of. There are few things as pleasing as looking at a flawless, clean cut perc, and MOmo obviously takes the time to ensure that type of quality.
The position of the downstem forces airflow to behave in a way that could only be described as “ramburstuous”, where airflow is pulled down at a right angle and is rammed into the bottom of the glass and explodes in a fury of bursting bubbles. It’s quite a common feature with fixed stems these days, though MOmo has done some of the best work I’ve seen with this type of perc system in a piece this large.
Aesthetically, the Daily Driver is hard to group into any specific category, but a mix rather, and a damn good one at that. The straight tall tube lends itself to a scientific style while the perc and chamber are a little more heady, though reserved. It’s a no-nonsense type of pipe; its aim is to hit you hard, dense, and clean. The almost spherical base chamber fits perfectly around the circ, allowing for the best distribution and range for the perc. In sum, the character of the piece is eclectic, but goes for functionality before creativity. The functionality is so brilliant and precise however, it becomes much more about artisanship than flashiness.
More so than pretty much all of the larger tubes I’ve hit lately, the MOmo Daily Driver stands out in so many different ways. I find myself loving it more every day. If you’re looking for a damn good Daily Driver, you really can’t go wrong with this MOmo. The brilliantly fixed downstem makes the whole thing much easier to deal with. The perc is made with serious precision and, coupled with bubble shaped chamber, it stacks fivefold with total ease. It is the essence the totally awesome and practical daily driver. This is by far one of my favorite tubes ever! I drove from Saint Louis to Dream’s smoke shop in Columbia MO and it was more than worth it.
Tons of diffusion, no drag and you get plenty of flavor with fresh water. lol
