Mr. Land Glass – “Druid’s Pick” Warcraft Power Gem Set

Time to get geeky y’all! For todays article we’ll be checking out some beautifully styled vapor bubblers and pipes, all in the same wonderful theme. Since our last article with Mr. Land we found that we really didn’t do the proper research on the theme, Why power gems? What the F*&#$ is a druid?  So first before we delve into to the ogle-fest let’s learn a little more about  The World of Warcraft….

For those of you who are un-aware of the worlds most played, most popular MMORPG (Massive.Multiplayer.Online.Role.Playing.Game) watch this to get caught up.

Druids (Mr. Land’s character of choice) are keepers of the world who walk the path of nature, following the wisdom of the Ancients and Cenarius, healing and nurturing the world. To a druid, nature is a delicate balance of actions, in which even the smallest imbalance can create storming turmoil from peaceful skies. Druids draw their power from this wild energy, using it to change their shapes and command the forces of nature. Traditionally druids chose the path of a specific animal totem. Since the invasion of the Burning Legion, however, most druids have undergone a number of reforms, including encouraging the study of magic from all totems. Druids who do this are known as druids of the wild.

Now that we’re all on the same page A “Gem”  is generally an item in the game that can be used as an ingredient primarily for Jewelcrafting recipes or placed into a socket of another item to give that item additional bonuses, powers. Jewelcrafters can turn raw gems into socket gems or various jewelry items like rings and necklaces. The term “gem” can be used for raw or cut stones, but is often only used to describe cut gems. When one obtains a gem in the game it provides the player with a “bonus” according to the stones rarity and color, improving your player in fields such as…

  • Agility
  • Intellect
  • Spirit
  • Stamina
  • Critical Strike Rating
And much more. Mr. Land, a WOW player himself has built upon this idea of Gems and has brought both into the real world, and the glass world. Now sporting a few different options now you can find that particular gem to improve you “player” aka you!
The “Jailhouse Rasta” Power Gem vapor bubblers are the first in the set that catch our eye. Mr. Lands signature electroform style comes out in a shiny metallic “layered finish” with massive “gems” protruding from random places on the bubbler, not to mention the fact this rig sports some pretty beastly horns!! Each rig sports hand-worked joints, a hand worked dome, and enough copper to properly outfit a small house.
The dry-pipes in this set are made with a custom color pull, a mix of disco and a home made Alien-Tech. Like the vapor bubblers each pipe is styled in the same theme with copper and stunning gems. Only on these pieces you can see a lot more in-depth color work since he hand-made the pull. Some pieces sport wig-wags but others have the look of vortexes spiraling into oblivion.

You can find all of these great works at The Cave, one of our favorite glass-emporiums on the west coast! Haven’t heard of it? let this article fill you in. We can’t thank Mr. Land enough for his support of IgniteMe and we can’t wait to see what he’s up to next! So game on guys! See you on the next instance!

  1. Up In Smoke and Fatty Zone were the first to carry his work, it can ALSO be located there. Tired of not getting the props from you guys. sup with it???

    • The Glass Otaku says:

MF-DOOM – We referenced the Cave merely since we were told these rigs were available there. Mr. Land himself has expressed that Up in Smoke and Fatty Zone do have a major chunk of his work. We’re currently working on spotlighting both shops. thanks!
