Mr. Xtra Crispy – Worked Prodo’s and More

It hasn’t been long since we last saw our local friend Jasen Despres aka Mr. Xtra Krispy and it’s already apparent since the last time we were in the studio he’s gotten a lot better. What first started out as a simple oiler operation has quikly turned into one of the most in demand concentrate units on the market, selling to high profile collectors and shops alike. Only this time Jasen’s got a few tricks up his sleeve, with a whole gang of new color pulls, fantastic marbles, and even exclusive colors. We were even blessed enough to have some of our own work done.

…MXC & Natty Glassworks “Peace-Pipe” collab pipe….

…A Fire Fade to Tequila rig in the works…

We kicked off the session with checking out the “Peace-Pipe” collab which had been thrown together by Jasen and good friend Natty of Natty Glassworks, the piece was exquisite, decked out tasty marbles, shields, and claws it was tough to get over the fact we weren’t going to be the ones brining it home with us. We quickly got to work making prodo rigs, the task is long and tedious and wasn’t much different from past recollections. Jasen spends time making various numbers of different components of the bubbler, then he spends one day putting them all together…which luckily for us was today! We put together a rig in the color pull Fire Fade to Tequilla by Wag Tubing as well as one in Electric Orange Blue, also from Wag.

…The Paparazzi green implosion marble being added to my 1/1 MXC dish…

…The finished product…

During the build we were lucky enough to score ourselves a Paparazzi Green implosion marble, soon after getting it I asked Jasen if he would attach it to my MXC custom dish he eagerly accepted the challenge and we got to work! It took a while to wait for both the dish and the marble to heat up in the kiln but once they were ready attaching the marble was easy and soon thereafter the to fit like matching puzzle pieces. Now all we had to do was wait until the next day to pick it up!

…The Alex K “Paparazzi Green” Bubbler…

…From left: Fire Fade to Tequila bubbler, Electric Orange Blue bubbler, Purple Luster…

Per special request Jasen made a special production rig out of the same Paparazzi Green, a new color sent to Jasen from downstem-legend Alex K. The piece was to have a worked female joint, a reti shield, and a pyramid style marble with an MXC signature wig-wag implosion on the inside. We aslo did two additional production rigs complete with horns and other attachments. As always we had a great time with Jasen, every time we visit him his skill seems to improve. We cannot wait to see what he’ll be up to next! If you’re interested in picking up one of his rigs for your personal collection or if you’d like to become one of the growing number of MXC authorized retailers please contact him through:
